Benito Mussolini autograph letter signed, dated 2 May 1926 after Mussolini assumed the title of ''Capo del Governo'' or Head of Government. At this time Mussolini was dismantling all checks on his power and recently survived the first assassination attempt on his life. Upon ''Capo del Governo'' stationery, Mussolini writes to his Finance Minister Giuseppe Volpi, ''Dear Volpi, / Two copies of Gerarchia, one for you and the other for Tenax, known in ordinary life as De Bellis, general accountant [Ragioniere Generale] of the State. / Cordially, / Mussolini / Rome, 2 May 1926''. Single page letter measures 8'' x 10.5''. Chipping at lower right edge and punch mark; overall very good condition. With full translation.
