Academy Award Commendation plaque, likely from the 1930s or 1940s, awarded to photographer Arthur Gerson, credited on the 1939 film ''Judge Hardy and Son''. Plaque features an AMPAS medallion at top with the Oscar figure in relief, along with ''ACADEMY OF MOTION PICTURE ARTS AND SCIENCES COMMENDATION'' encircling the medallion. A gold plaque beneath reads in part, ''Honorary Membership Issued to Arthur Gerson / New York International Photographers''. Entire plaque measures 5'' x 7''. Light scratches, overall very good condition. A rare Academy Award collectible.
