U.S. flag flown in space aboard the Columbia on NASA's very first space shuttle mission. This flag orbited Earth 36 times in the shuttle. Flag is mounted to a certificate bearing mission insignia and photos of the spacecraft, along with a printed statement that reads: ''Presented to June E. Bosbous / This flag was flown aboard Space Shuttle 'Columbia' (STS-1) April 12-14, 1981. It is presented to you in recognition of the significant contribution you made to the success of the mission.'' Flag measures 5.5'' x 4''. Certificate has been matted to an overall size of 10'' x 14''. Toning to adhesive under flag and partial lifting to upper left corner of flag, overall very good.
