Original invitation for the 24 May 1883 opening of the Brooklyn Bridge printed by Tiffany & Co. Printed invitation features a picture of the fabulous engineering achievement and reads in part, ''...The trustees of the New York and Brooklyn Bridge request the honor of the presence of [inscribed] Mr Henry Lansdell at the opening ceremonies to take place...'' The ceremony for the iconic bridge was attended by President Chester A. Arthur. The invitation was produced only two years before Tiffany & Co. revised the Great Seal of the United States. Measures 9'' x 6.5''. Toning and soiling, else very good.
