Thomas Edison signed check, drawn on the Edison Botanic Research Corporation, the Florida company he founded to develop a U.S. plant based source of rubber so as not to be reliant on foreign sources. Dated 21 June 1923, check is made out to the Florida Power & Light Co. for $74.77. Signed ''Thos A Edison'', with Edison's famous umbrella signature. Check measures 8.625'' x 3''. Imperceptible closed vertical tear, measuring approximately 1.75'' but obscured by bank cancellation holes. Edison's signature is bold and prominent. Overall in very good condition.
