Ronald & Nancy Reagan Personally Owned Russian Box

Lacquered Russian box from the personal collection of President Ronald and Nancy Reagan, owned and used by them at their Bel Air, California home. Black lacquered box features an iridescent scene of a hauntingly beautiful Russian winter. Hinged top opens to reveal a red lacquered interior. The box was likely obtained during the Reagans historic trip to Russia during the 1988 Moscow Summit, or possibly received as a State gift presented by Gorbachev or other dignitaries. Markings translate from Russian as ''Fedoskino / 1982 / Sladkov''. Box was originally sold at Christie's in New York, and has Christie's sticker. Measures 7.75'' x 5.5'' x 2.5'' high. Near fine condition.
