President John F. Kennedy document signed as President, dated 8 May 1963 on White House stationery. Document appoints Edgar F. Kaiser, son of industrialist Henry Kaiser and later, the founder of Kaiser Permanente, ''...by and with the advice and consent of the Senate an Incorporator of the Communications Satellite Corporation...'' Signed ''John F. Kennedy'' at lower right. The Communications Satellite Corporation (Comsat) was incorporated in 1962 by an act of Congress to establish a commercial system of international communications using artificial satellites. Document on one page measures 14'' x 11'' with a light crease to upper left, else near fine.
