Original title art from the acclaimed 1976 film ''James Dean'', created by Hollywood's go-to graphic artist Sandy Dvore. Dvore created eight one-of-a-kind illustrations for the film's opening title sequence capturing different periods of Dean's life, seven of which are being made available at auction here for the first time. Dvore rose to prominence in the early sixties creating iconic illustrations for trade ads in the ''Hollywood Reporter'' and ''Variety'' for stars Judy Garland, Warren Beatty, Sammy Davis Jr. and Frank Sinatra. He soon helped to create a new art form, the film trade ad, creating campaigns for such iconic films ''Lawrence of Arabia'' and ''The Great Escape''. Dvore also created the logos for prominent entertainment companies United Artists, Lorimar and ICM. In the 70s and 80s Dvore turned his attention to television, creating the famous title sequences to such shows as ''The Waltons'', ''The Partridge Family'' and ''The Young and the Restless''. This evocative ink on vellum illustration features Dean in a cowboy hat, sitting as he rests his head in his hand, on the set of ''Giant''. Measures 23'' x 19.75''. Near fine condition. With an LOA by Sandy Dvore.
