Original ''personal message'' from Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery as Commander-in-Chief of the British Zone in post-WWII occupied Germany. Dated 30 May 1945, message in German reads, ''...This area will be governed for the present by Military Government under my orders...the first step will be to see that the population has (a) food (b) housing (c) freedom from disease...'' Much more content including the treatment of war criminals. 8'' x 13'' 1pp. document is in very good condition. With complete English translation.
