Nuremberg trial pass, issued 28 November 1946 just before the start of Military Tribunal I, the ''Doctors' Trial'' which tried 23 Nazi physicians for war crimes. Pass is issued to United States Lt. Colonel Emory A. Mead, who signs the pass and whose photo appears at lower left. Mead was a member of the 6850th Internal Security Detachment, assigned to guard the war criminals at Nuremberg. Pass is also signed by Thomas Hodges of the Office of Chief of Counsel for War Crimes, which issued the pass. Circular stamp on pass reads ''PERSON [illegilbe] SECURITY''. Pass measures 4.25'' x 2.75''. Very good condition.
