Mary Astor autograph letter signed, dated 2 October 1964. Upon her personal stationery bearing her Malibu address, the Academy Award-winning actress writes, likely to her agent, ''Hi darling - Memo: 'after Labor Day-' Just checking to find out if I should put my name on the waiting list at MPRF [Motion Picture Retirement Fund] Country House. Salkow office says there's a good picture 'in the talking stage' - I seem to be wasting spit and high blood pressure tablets. Love, Mary''. Single-page letter measures 8.5'' x 11''. Ink notation to bottom edge. Very good to near fine.
