He signs ''Shelby Foote'' to the fly-leaf of his lauded novel based on the Battle of Shiloh during the American Civil War. Foote details the battle by means of a narrative told from the perspective of six different characters, all officers or soldiers for the Union or Confederacy. Bound in brown leather boards with gilt lettering and design. All edges gilt, with a saffron satin page marker and silk moire endpapers. Measures 5.75'' x 8.75''. Fine in original shrink wrap.
