S.S. Van Dine signed first edition of ''The Scarab Murder Case''. Charles Scribner's Sons: New York: 1930. The author signs upon the front free endpaper: ''To Ray Long / With appreciation and in admiration / S.S. Van Dine / New York 1930''. Willard Wright created the Van Dine pen name and the popular Philo Vance detective series in the 1920's and 1930's. Ray Long was an important editor and literary critic of that era. Fading to backstrip and minor chipping to 5.25'' x 7.5'' hardcover book. Overall very good condition.
