Intellectual creator of the Statue of Liberty, Edouard Laboulaye pens this letter to an unknown recipient regarding membership to an academy, probably the Academie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres. Laboulaye writes in French, ''...the Academie is already so familiar with your professional accomplishments...I will not fail to mention the letter and its contents to my colleagues...E. Laboulaye''. Letter measures 5.25'' x 8.25''. Pencil annotation at top indicates letter may have been written in 1855. Very good. Accompanied by translation.
