Certificate of Appreciation from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, to ''Mutiny on the Bounty'' composer Bronislau Kaper. Such an achievement was Kaper's soundtrack for the 1962 film, ''Mutiny on the Bounty,'' that the movie itself became famous for it, earning him Best Song and Best Score Oscars that year. This award is dated 1972 and reads in part: ''...The Board of Governors expresses its gratitude to Bronislau Kaper for outstanding service to the Academy...'' Signed by Wendell Corey as President of the Academy. Certificate is inlaid in a wooden plaque with a glossy finish and gilt trim. Countersigned by Hal Elias as Academy Secretary. Measures 13.5'' x 11''. Very good.
