Nice 4.25'' x 6.5'' photo of General William T. Sherman, taken by famed Civil War photographer Mathew Brady. With Brady backmark on verso, ''Imperial Carte DeVisite by Brady, National Portrait Galleries, 785 Broadway, New York, and 352 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, D.C.'' Brady captures Sherman in a stoic, resolute pose, in his General's uniform. Boldly signed upon the border, ''W.T. Sherman / General''. Photograph is slightly warped and a quarter-sized surface abrasion exists on Sherman's left shoulder. Overall in good condition.
