Confederate States of America paper currency printed by the State of Georgia during the final weeks of the Civil War. This ten-dollar denomination bill bears the dateline Milledgeville, 20 March 1865, just two weeks before the Confederate generals began the chain of war-ending surrenders. The one-sided note's print reads in part: ''The State of Georgia / Will Pay The Bearer / Ten Dollars...on the 25th December 1865, or, within three months thereafter if presented...'' Note bears two signatures, one on behalf of the Treasurer and another for the Comptroller General. The Confederacy began printing its own money at the start of the Civil War; Georgia and other of its states printed supplementary currency. Measures 7'' x 3''. Toning, else near fine.
