Italian opera great Luisa Tetrazzini signed picture postcard. The soprano legend's career boomed through the early 20th century, first in Europe then in America, where this 1911 portrait was taken. Black and white portrait depicts the virtuoso posing in an ornate gown. Tetrazzini signs, ''Souvenir from / Luisa Tetrazzini / Frisco March 24 / 1913''. Printed photograph measures 3.5'' x 5.5'', with ''Copyright 1911 Kirkland Denver'' and ''Mme. Luisa Tetrazzini'' in white type. Portions of her handwriting camouflage into black background. Postmarked postcard is addressed in verso in her hand. Near fine.
