Enrico Caruso signed photo of himself in his famous role as Canio in Ruggero Leoncavallo's opera ''Pagliacci.'' Caruso's autograph inscription in black ink runs up the left edge, reading: ''To Wilkins / Sincerely / Enrico Caruso''. The tenor and pioneer in the recording industry performed regularly with the Metropolitan Opera before his death in 1921 at age 48. Matte photograph measures 4.75'' x 9''. Toning and a touch of foxing to top edge, else near fine.
