Neil Armstrong typed letter signed, dated 23 March 1970, on NASA letterhead. Letter to Edward E. Hannigan of the School of Modern Photography reads in full: ''...Thank you very much for your kind letter of last November. I have received the achievement award plaque honoring the photography that we accomplished on the flight of Apollo XI. Needless to say, I am honored that you have bestowed this tribute upon us. Please convey our warm good wishes to all those at the School of Modern Photography and be assured that this plaque will hang with some of our other treasured mementoes [sic]...'' He signs, ''Neil Armstrong''. The 7'' x 8.25'' single page letter is matted and framed with a photo of Buzz Aldrin receiving a similar plaque to an overall size of 28.5'' x 15.5''. Glue residue to letter, else near fine.
