Marc Chagall ''Dessins Pour La Bible'' [Drawings for the Bible]. Paris: Editions de la Revue Verve: 1960. The modernist artist traveled to Palestine in 1931 to begin work on his illustrations of the Hebrew Bible which he completed in 1956. This volume, with an introduction in French by Gaston Bachelard, contains 96 black and white reproductions as well as twenty-four color lithographs on wove paper. The cover was specially designed by Chagall for this volume. Minor wear to edges of 10.5'' x 14'' pictorial paper boards; light toning to pages. Overall near fine condition. A beautiful copy of this wonderfully illustrated edition.
