George IV signed slip as Prince Regent. King George III was in poor mental health during the final decade of his reign, and his son George IV signed in his stead. A line contemporaneously written across the top reads: ''In the Name and on the Behalf of His Majesty''. Slip measures 7.75'' x 3.25'' and was once part of a letters patent document, as evidenced by the text on verso. Toning, with bottom edge irregularly trimmed, else near fine.
