George IV document signed in large script as Prince Regent. His father, King George III was unable to perform his royal duties during the last decade of his life due to mental illness, so as Prince Regent, George IV signs in his place. Dated 2 December 1819, the document recognizes an invention for eliminating cooking smells as the intellectual property of practical chemist Phillips London the Younger. Countersigned by Sidmouth. 3pp. document on card style stationery measures 8'' x 12.5''. Toning and creasing, with the inventor's name inscribed to verso, else near fine.
