Baseball Hall of Famer ''Billy Evans'' typed letter twice-signed, once to the closing of the letter in green ink, and again to the upper left corner in black ink. Six years before his death, ''The Boy Umpire'' writes to Bernard Sullisz of Detroit, Michigan on 16 August 1950: ''I am enclosing a couple of passes and box seats for the Mrs. and yourself. The passes are tax paid. All you need to do is walk through the pass gate, retain coupons and go to your box seat. It was nice to have met you. Under separate cover I am sending you a ball autographed by the Tigers. No doubt some one in your family would like to have it. Cordially yours, [signed] Billy Evans''. A 3.5'' x 5.5'' illustrated postcard of Evans is included. 1pp. letter measures 7.25'' x 10.5''. Creasing and very light toning, else near fine.
