Release form for outfielder Cal "Abie" Abrams, dated 13 May 1949. After making his major league debut with the Brooklyn Dodgers on 20 April 1949, Abrams played eight games before being sent to Fort Worth to play in the Texas League for the rest of the year. "Notice to Player of Release or Transfer" notifies Abrams that his "contract has been assigned to the Ft. Worth Club of Texas League…subject to recall on one day's notice…" It is signed by Branch Rickey, Dodgers president. Abrams remained with the Dodgers organization until 1952. 6" x 4" document is in near fine condition.
