Portrait photo of American novelist George Cable with signed mount. Just four years before his death, Cable inscribes: ''With the cordial regards of / Yours Truly / G.W. Cable / Northampton, Massachusetts, 1921''. Cable was known for his literature focusing on Creole people in Louisiana. Matte photo measures 4.25'' x 6.25'', mounted to 6.5'' x 8.5''. Toning to mount, a pencil notation beneath photo's lower right corner and pencil notations with adhesive residue to verso. Very good.
