Famous English Baptist preacher C.H. Spurgeon autograph letter signed to a Tomkins. Datelined Westwood, Beulah Hill, Upper Norwood, 2 June 1884, it reads: ''Dear Friend, At my jubilee I propose to have a Tabernacle gathering on June 18, representing our work in all its branches. I should like your Townley St Mission to be represented. Will you arrange for a contingent to be present? Say how many and tickets will be sent, & a place appointed. God's blessing be ever with you. Yours heartily, C H Spurgeon''. 1pp. on card style stationery is inked in purple. Measures 4.5'' x 7.5''. Creasing, toning, and light soiling. A horizontal tear running across the center is repaired with tape to verso, else very good.
