Artist Jules Breton handwrites and signs a letter upon a slip to a Mr. Tadesco in French. Dated 1898, it translates to ''I send you my very best regards and ask that you kindly fill out the enclosed certificate and mail it to the destination indicated. I believe that we have decided to send the Village to Pittsburgh, but I am not sure. I have sketched a small panel for Mr. Leon. With best regards, Jules Breton.'' Breton painted such famous works as ''Women Gleaning'' and ''The Day After St. Sebastion's Day.'' Measures 7.75'' x 2.5''. A pencil notation to verso bears his name. Top edge is irregularly trimmed and a crease runs down the center, else near fine.
