Former Nazi Albert Speer typed letter signed ''Albert Speer'' in blue ink. Five years after his release from prison for war crimes, he writes on his personal stationery to his Chicago acquaintance Elaine Lincoln. Datelined Heidelberg, 21 June 1971, it translates in part: ''...I will be in France in September and just return on the 26th to Heidelberg and stay here only until the 3rd of October. I hope that you can plan your trip to Heidelberg in a way that you can visit me then...'' Original mailing envelope addressed in an unknown hand, possibly Speer's, is included. 1pp. measures 8'' x 11.5'' on translucent paper. Creasing and chipping to lower right corner, else near fine. Accompanied by full translation.
