James Monroe document signed as President. Dated 1823, this Indiana land grant on vellum entitles Henry Dow Junior of Clark County to 80 acres in Jeffersonville. A U.S. General Land Office seal is affixed to lower left, and its Commissioner, George Graham, countersigns. 1pp. partially-printed document is filled in by an unknown hand and measures 15.5'' x 9.25''. A total of five tiny holes are present along fold lines in the center. Toning and creasing. Very good condition given age.
