Rare 1928 edition of ''The House at Pooh Corner'' signed by the author ''A.A. Milne'' and the illustrator ''Ernest H. Shepard''. The second volume of Winnie-the-Pooh stories, this book introduces Tigger and bids an emotional farewell to Christopher Robin when he departs for boarding school. E.P. Dutton & Co., Inc.: New York: 1928. Printed the same year as the first edition, this limited edition is numbered 186 of 250 copies. Larger than the first edition, the book measures 7.25'' x 9'' and is bound in green cloth. Pages have a slightly glossy finish and deckled edges; black and white illustrations throughout. Front cover has a partial circular white ring and some scuffs, backstrip has some dampstaining. Covers have expected wear at the edges and corners and front joint is starting to split. The pages are tightly bound, clean, lightly discolored at the outer edges. Very good.
