Fireside poet Oliver Wendell Holmes autograph letter signed clearly in ink. Holmes datelines the Beverly Farms, Massachusetts on 13 February 1888, one week after his wife of 40 years passed away. The brief letter reads in full: ''My dear Miss Talmage, It gives me pleasure to comply with your slight request. Yours very truly / Oliver Wendell Holmes.'' Single page measures 4.25'' x 7''. Toning and light staining from adhesive residue to verso, else near fine.
