Nobel Peace Prize winner and first democratically-elected President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela's signed autobiography, ''Long Walk to Freedom.'' Norwalk, CT: Easton Press: 2000. Rare book is signed on title page in dark ink by Mandela, who began this autobiography during his 27 years in prison. Luxuriously bound in leather with 22 karat gilt lettering, page ends and designs on covers. Interior printed on acid-neutral paper resistant to toning. Pages smyth-sewn, moire fabric endsheets and ribbed spine. Also includes sewn in silk book marker. From a print run of 1,000, this volume is in unread condition and comes with the COA issued by Easton Press. An elegant, pristine edition, 558 pages, measuring 6.25'' x 9.5''. Beautiful condition.
