Original poster artwork by Angelo Cesselon for the 1963 film, ''Cleopatra'' starring Elizabeth Taylor. Known as the cinematic portrait artist, Cesselon specialized in marketing artwork during the Golden Age of Hollywood that prominently featured movie stars such as Marilyn Monroe, Ava Gardner and Gina Lollobrigida. This piece is a quintessential example of Cesselon's work, with Taylor's portrait in the foreground, Roman fighters behind her. Signed by Cesselon at upper left. Rendered in graphite on artist board measuring 14'' x 19.75''. Minor creasing, pinholes at upper corners and small tear to lower right margin. Very good plus condition.
