King Charles II was the first monarch following the execution of his father, Charles I, twelve years earlier during the English Civil War. Writing from Whitehall, Charles II signs a warrant for 10,000 pounds ordered by parliament to be given to the Duke of York. With large signature at top, ''Charles R''.
