Albert Speer, Hitler's beloved architect and Minister of Armaments, signs this letter mentioning his desire to see Charlie Chaplin's Nazi satire, ''The Great Dictator.'' Speer writes in German to a Mrs. Lincoln on 14 March 1973, after serving his sentence for Nazi war crimes, ''...my wife and I rarely go to the movies. Maybe soon Chaplin's The Great Dictator film will come, for which I've waited a long time. That will probably be an exception, as I loved Chaplin in my youth very much...[signed] Albert Speer''. Folded document on Speer's personal stationery measures 8.25'' x 11.5'', in near fine condition. With original envelope and full translation.
