2 May 1945 Paris Edition of ''The Stars and Stripes'' newspaper, reporting the death of Nazi Germany's infamous leader, Adolf Hitler. The headline simply pronounces in large type, ''Hitler Dead''. The story, garnered from a German radio announcement, shows an image of the Fuhrer and statements from his successor Karl Doenitz. Second front page article reports, ''Churchill Hints Peace is at Hand''. Toned newspaper runs 10pp. and measures 11.75'' x 16.5''. Some staining to lower right cover and some wear to edges and folds. Overall very good condition.
