Brian Epstein signed Corporate Resolutions for the Beatles (U.S.A.) Limited, signed exactly five months before Epstein passed. Rare document confirms that a special meeting of the corporation was held, called to replace Walter and Sandra Hofer with Nathan Weiss as director. Document comes from the estate of Walter Hofer, an entertainment lawyer hired by Epstein to help the Fab Four break into the U.S. market and who negotiated terms for them to play the Ed Sullivan Show. Weiss was a personal friend of Epstein's and together they formed the management company Nemperor Artists.
In addition to naming the new director and establishing Chase as the official bank for the Beatles, document also allows Epstein and Weiss to act on their behalf, including borrowing money and granting security interests in the corporation. Dated 27 March 1967, Epstein signs at conclusion as Vice President and Secretary of the corporation, countersigned by Weiss as President. The Beatles' embossed corporate seal appears to the left of their signatures. Four-page bifolium document measures 8.5'' x 11'' as folded. Near fine condition. Very rare.
