Alberto Vargas original ink drawing, signed and dated 1918 by Vargas at top left, completed during a time of creative flourish in Vargas' life shortly after he moved to New York City and was finding his artistic style. Titled ''Un Message du Front'', this charming scene depicts Cupid delivering a message from the front lines of World War I to an attractive and lovelorn redhead. Drawing is featured in Vargas' Taschen biography, ''Vargas 20s-50s'' (copy included), page 8. Ink on paper drawing is framed, with visible portion measuring approximately 8'' x 9'', framed to a size of 21'' x 24''. Minor discoloration to margins, and scratching to frame, overall very good plus condition. Not examined out of frame. Originally from the Vargas Trust Collection.
