Lot of three John Wayne mugs from some of his most beloved films: ''The Alamo'', ''The Shootist'' and ''The Horse Soldiers'', all in unused condition with vibrant gold handles. Wayne famously gifted custom ceramic mugs to the cast and crew of his films, with these three originating from Al Yaylian, a boom operator on the films. Lot includes:
1) Mug from ''The Alamo'', Wayne's favorite mug as it features what he thought was a beautiful rendition of the Texan mission on the front. The back reads ''Al From Duke''. With vibrant gold handle and Wallace mark on underside as required. Measures 4'' tall and 3.25'' across the rim. Near fine condition.
2) Mug from ''The Shootist'', Wayne's last film. There were two versions of this mug, one with a gold handle and a rarer, more desirable version with a gold stripe on the handle. This features the gold stripe, also with Ketchum Originals on underside as required. Front of mug shows a portrait of Wayne and back of mug reads ''Albert From Duke''. Measures 3.5'' tall and 3.375'' across the rim. Near fine condition.
3) Mug from ''The Horse Soldiers'', featuring a detailed column of cavalry soldiers on the front with the tagline, ''Just Say Yo''. Back reads in part, ''Al From Duke''. With vibrant gold handle and Bob Williams mark on underside as required. Measures 3.75'' tall and 3.25'' across the rim. Near fine condition.
