French General Claude Malet document signed in 1795 during his service with the 50th Infantry. Here, Malet signs a resignation document for a Captain Guillet. The clear signature reads: ''Malet''. A loyal revolutionary, Malet opposed Napoleon as First Consul and Emperor and led an unsuccessful coup in 1812 for which he was executed. Two page 8.75'' x 13'' document in French shows minor separations at folds, ink showthrough and tape residue, not affecting signature. Overall very good condition.
