Louis XV document signed ''Louis'' as King of France, datelined Fontainebleau, 1 November 1746. The monarch's controversial reign, influenced heavily by Madame de Pompadour, is debated as the ultimate cause of the French Revolution. Louis here confirms the military appointment of Lt. Regiment Berry, countersigned by ''Voyer d'Argenson'', also known as Marc-Pierre de Voyer de Paulmy, comte d'Argenson. Partially printed single page document contains notations to verso and measures 9.75" x 14.75". Toning and pinholes to fold intersections with separation to fold lines at edges. In very good condition.
