Frank Lloyd Wright typed letter signed, with additional correspondence including a swatch of blue yarn used for a ''beautiful blue rug'' received by Wright as a Christmas present from his California representative Aaron Green. On Taliesin West's burnt-orange red stationery, Wright writes to Green on 4 March 1959, in part:
''Dear Aaron: I am absorbing the first payment on the State Fair scheme - but next payment will divide. I suppose the 'third' should be taken out of the fee after reasonable deduction for cost of drawings? Or what have you? We are just between hay and grass all around.
Thanks aplenty for the beautiful blue rug which came a few days ago -- the color is a remarkable blue. The office gains a new dignity...'' Signed by Wright in black ballpoint.
Accompanied by three additional pieces of correspondence regarding the rug, including one with a swatch of blue yarn, thrice-dyed, exhibiting a brilliant blue color. In addition to the rug, Wright references in his letter a project for the Marin County, California fairgrounds, specifically the design of a pavilion and amphitheatre. Wright's letter measures 11'' x 8.5''. Folds and light creasing, overall near fine condition.
