Very rare ticket to the nationally televised ''Gone With the Wind'' world premiere Atlanta ball, held the evening of 14 December 1939, one night before the film's premiere. President Jimmy Carter, a teenager at the time, remarked that the Atlanta premiere of ''Gone With the Wind' was ''the biggest event to happen in the South in my lifetime.'' To celebrate the event, the Mayor of Atlanta declared a citywide holiday with three days of festivities, including this exclusive Junior League gala ball. Ticket stub measures approximately 2'' x 2.25'', encapsulated by PSA/DNA to a size of 3.125'' x 5.375''. Very good condition.
