Lot of items owned by Mercury 7 astronaut Gus Grissom. Includes:
1) Holograph check signed, penned entirely in Grissom's hand. On his personal check, Grissom writes a check for $12.15 to ''Hi Seas'' on 19 July 1964. Signed ''Virgil I. Grissom'' in blue ballpoint on signature line. Discreet cancellation holes and stamps on verso, overall near fine.
2) Gus Grissom personally owned wooden gavel, with engraved plate reading ''Astronaut / Capt. Virgil I. Grissom / From Charls. A. Wigell Nat Gavelman''. Measures 9'' long. Near fine.
3) Gus Grissom personally owned piece of ore from the film ''Unsinkable Molly Brown''. Piece of ore is mounted to a wooden base, displayed with Grissom's name on plaque. Plaque measures 6.5'' x 3'' and piece stands 4'' tall. Near fine.
