Page of jokes handwritten by Moe Howard, likely for a Three Stooges stage show. Written circa 1940 on Embassy Hotel stationery, page reads in part, ''...you ever stand before a large & intelligent audience - yes - what did you say - Not Guilty''. It continues, ''Now I have a little play I wrote a sort of a brain child of mine it's a story about Pokahontas & John Smith...Who was John Smith - He and his wife registered in Hotels thousands of times - No John Smith was an explorer who came to this country fell in love with Pokahontas - Who Poka - Pokahontas - Pokahonts - Gezuntheit...Pokahonta's father didn't like the idea of John Smith falling in love with his daughter...Come here now have you a general idea of the scenario - Sure John Smith discovers America and Pokahontas comes across - No - Well who came across - Now just a minute and I'll get a little girl to play the part of Poka - will go through a little scene...these gentlemen will play the part of John Smith he falls in love with you - Has he got any money - look a Jewish indian...'' Single page written in pencil measures 6'' x 8.25''. Light wear, overall very good. From the Moe Howard estate. With PSA/DNA COA.
