Signatures of President Abraham Lincoln's cabinet, comprising:
1) Secretary of War Edwin Stanton signed military appointment, dated 15 January 1864. Vellum document with military vignettes measures 15'' x 9.75''. Minor fading to signature, overall very good condition.
2) Secretary of the Navy Gideon Welles signed naval appointment with intact green paper seal and decorated with naval scenes. Vellum document measures 13.5'' x 15.5''. Very good plus condition.
3) Secretary of the Interior Caleb Smith autograph letter signed, dated 26 April 1861. Smith writes to Gideon Welles just days after the start of the Civil War. Bifolium letter measures 7.75'' x 9.5''. Near fine condition.
4) Secretary of the Treasury Salmon P. Chase letter signed on Treasury Department letterhead. Writing to Secretary of State William Seward, Chase writes about taxation of gold mines in California. Bifolium letter measures 7.75'' x 9.875''. Very good plus condition.
5) Attorney General Edward Bates letter signed, dated 23 May 1861. To an unnamed recipient, Bates makes a professional introduction. Letter measures 5.25'' x 8.25'', hinged on left side to slightly larger card. Very good plus condition.
6) Secretary of State William H. Seward letter signed, dated 9 August 1862. Seward writes to General Henry Halleck, enclosing a letter from another individual. Letter measures 5'' x 8''. Splits starting along vertical fold, else near fine with a bold signature.
7) Postmaster General Montgomery Blair autograph letter signed, dated 4 September 1861. Blair writes candidly about a certain individual, noting ''He will take the oath & promises to behave himself.'' Bifolium letter measures 5'' x 8''. Near fine condition.
