Pablo Picasso signed first U.S. edition of ''Picasso'' by Jean Cassou, filled with illustrations of Picasso's artwork. New York: The Hyperion Press, 1940. Inscribed by Picasso on the half-title page to Kurt-Rudiger von Roques, ''A Monsieur von Roques / Souvenir de Paris / Picasso / Paris Decembre / 1943''. With corrections to the recipient's name done by Picasso. Large book measures 9.75'' x 13'' in publisher's binding. Runs 167pp. Some spotting to boards, separation starting to hinges with some loosening. Overall in very good condition.
