Harriet Beecher Stowe signed copy of ''Uncle Tom's Cabin'', the novel that so inflamed public sentiment against slavery that Abraham Lincoln was reported to have said upon meeting Stowe, ''So you're the little lady who started this great war.'' Cambridge: Riverside Press, 1893 Brunswick edition. Signed by Stowe on the front free endpaper in fine black fountain pen, ''Harriet Beecher Stowe / Hartford April / 1893''. In original publisher's boards with gilt lettering on front, book measures 4.5'' x 6'' and runs 566pp. Minor shelf wear and sunning to spine, separation starting at front hinge. Some brittleness to interior pages and tape repair to preface page. Very good condition. With note tucked in by a woman named Ilsa Carter Wight stating that the novel was presented to her parents on their wedding day in April 1893 by Stowe.
