Lot of three photos taken by David F. Barry, the western photographer whose portraits of the Lakota people earned him the nickname ''Little Shadow Catcher'' by the tribe. First photo is of Chief Rain-in-the-Face with his second wife; the Chief was a respected Lakota warrior rumored to have killed George Custer at Little Bighorn. Silver gelatin photo with Barry's copyright stamps measures 6.5'' x 8.5''. Affixed to black construction paper, on the verso of which are the other two photos, both with Barry's embossed copyright stamps: a Sioux woman with her child, identified as ''Black Eyes'' (measures 5'' x 7''), and a young woman identified as ''Quarter breed Sioux'' by the name of Stella Botineau (measures 4.5'' x 7''). Silvering to border of Rain-in-the-Face photo; fading to Botineau photo. Overall very good.
